GCL Email Template Submission For Impact Award Q4 2016

The challenge was this: every time we launched an eBook (about once a month), we would have to produce an email, which would take us up to eight hours from concept to finished HTML. We were also designing a website at the time and just couldn’t spare the time. The answer was to produce a template that would streamline the whole process.

What did we do to meet this challenge?

What we needed was a template that would make the development of all HTML emails easier and faster, and that meant including all the design features that we anticipated needing in our future emails. In the end decided to go with a template that did all of the following:

–  Display its information correctly on email platforms

–  Project GCL Direct’s new corporate identity

–  Promote the new service offering

–  Make it easier and faster for create marketing emails

For our purposes, HubSpot’s email module builder was perfect, and the clean, engaging design of the template speaks for itself.

What was the impact of the new template?

From the very first email we developed with this template, we knew it was a success. Development time was cut from 8 hours to 1 hour, alleviating the pressure on our staff and saving much time. But there were also several other benefits to using the template. The template ensured that our emails were more uniform, and the general consensus is that, since we implemented the template, the quality of our emails has been higher – an opinion that is supported by our analytics. Our last email achieved a open rate of 9.41, and so far we have gained 26 new marketing-qualified leads.
