5 reasons to outsource your telemarketing

Emma Wainman-Sale | 31 March 2016

If you are considering outsourcing your telemarketing but aren’t quite sure, we have put together 5 simple reasons why it may be the best option for your business.

Using inexperienced staff

You may think that keeping all of your telemarketing activity in-house will save you money, but as discussed in our earlier blogs, this may not be the case. More importantly, using inexperienced staff may cost you an all-important lead. Whilst your internal team may know the ins and outs of your business, they may not be comfortable being thrown head first into calling. An outsourced team will have a variety of expertise and plenty of experience.

Hiring In

If you recognise that you currently have no-one who is suitable for telemarketing, you may look at hiring in. Whilst this may give you complete control, finding the right person can have severe cost implications such as recruitment fees, training costs and advertising costs. Once you have found Mr or Mrs Right, you need to focus your efforts on keeping hold of them as telemarketing turnover is higher than many other professions. By outsourcing your telemarketing, you only have to pay the agencies fees, the rest of the cost is absorbed.

Location, Location, Location

By this, we don’t mean think green, we are referring to the office environment. The physical location of a telemarketing team is extremely important for their productivity. If they are in a communal office and feel like they are being overheard and judged, this may affect their performance. An outsourced telemarketing team will have the perfect environment already in place.

Create conversations

Experienced telemarketers will not only be able to get the best out of the conversations they are having, but they will also be able to lead the conversation into either an appointment or some form of follow-up. An unscripted approach is always best, and this can only be carried out by a telemarketer who feels confident and ready.

Save yourself time and money

As already discussed, keeping your telemarketing in-house can have unexpected cost implications. Additionally, time is definitely of the essence. It takes time to train a telemarketer to a standard you are happy with, and if there is a high staff turnover, a lot of time could be wasted. Not only this, outsourced telemarketers will have experience in call recording, handling and reporting, so you won’t have to spend time doing this in-house.
